Job summary The post holder in conjunction with consultant colleagues provide a service within Gynaecology which include outpatient clinics, procedure clinics (Colposcopy/ Hysteroscopy) and elective theatre sessions. There is also a requirement to participate in the emergency in week and out of hours emergency oncall. We are looking for someone competent in managing complex Gynaecological cases including open and MAS approaches andATSMs (SITMS) in Benign Gynaecology. In conjunction with the Directorate Management team and colleagues to take active role in developing and implementing new ways of working in line with modernisation principles and fit for the future. There is also a requirement to ensure the requirements of clinical governance are met. Main duties of the job Provide a service in Gynaecology including hot week and on-call commitments. Partake a full part in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department. This includes being on-call for telephone advice and major incidents. Take part in medical audit and research as appropriate. Ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met. To ensure that there are adequate arrangements for hospital staff involved in the care of your patients to be able to contact you when necessary. Play a full part in the professional supervision and management of junior medical staff. In conjunction with consultant colleagues, to take responsibility for and devote time to teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required for junior medical staff.
