Payroll Manager

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Payroll Manager to join our growing team based in Stockton-On-Tees. We are looking for an individual who is ideally CIPP qualified or qualified by experience to join the team. The successful candidate will help support the growing client base providing outsourced support.
Job Role
In this role, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for the following:
* Processing payroll in line with payroll schedule, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the payroll production
* Maintaining knowledge of current and new legislation impacting payroll and ensuring this knowledge is shared with the Head of Atom People
* Managing payroll enquiries and amendments
* Managing and keeping pension schemes up to date and accurate
* Liaising with HMRC, pension providers, and other third parties
* Ongoing identification and improvements of payroll systems and processes
* Periodical KPI reporting and accountability
* CIS returns processing
* Administration of company benefits and bonus schemes
* Making sure that P11D returns are completed and up to date
* Other ad-hoc tasks as required including support to Head of Atom People and wider Atom Financial team
* Liaising and working directly with a range of external clients
About You
The ideal candidate will:
* Have experience in a similar role (requirement)
* Have excellent attention to detail, possess good initiative, and be able to work independently.
* Be a confident communicator.
* Have experience using Xero and Sage 50 payroll software (preferable).
* Have experience and confidence in using the Microsoft 365 package, especially with Excel.
* CIPP qualifications or equivalent desirable but not essential.
* Have up-to-date general payroll knowledge.
* Have excellent planning skills together with strong prioritisation skills.
* Be control and compliance minded, and willing to ensure the business adheres to all payroll-related policies and processes.
Job Offer
* 22.5 hours per week (60% of FTE), days/times of working week flexible (no weekends)
* Salary: up to £27k FTE (DOE)
