The opportunity
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering efforts across various projects, with a particular focus on HVAC systems and their integration into innovative products. You will ensure the seamless coordination of resources, efficient project delivery, and the development of a highly skilled, multi-disciplined team. Drawing on your expertise in HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and product engineering, you will make informed decisions that bring commercial value and drive the company’s mission forward.
You will be both a technical leader and a hands-on manager, capable of mentoring, inspiring, and developing your team while engaging with senior stakeholders. Your ability to adapt to new challenges and innovate within the HVAC field will be critical as we continue to scale.
Key areas of accountability
* Lead engineering projects: Take ownership of company-wide engineering initiatives, ensuring effective integration of HVAC principles into our product designs. Oversee the execution and delivery of projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and HVAC industry standards.
* Product management and compliance: Manage the full lifecycle of our products, ensuring they meet HVAC compliance and regulatory standards, as well as relevant industry guidelines. Your experience with HVAC systems will be essential in ensuring that our products deliver the best possible performance.
* Resource management: Coordinate and allocate resources effectively across multiple projects, balancing business demands and team capacity. Use your HVAC experience to ensure that engineering resources are optimally utilised and HVAC-related components are integrated seamlessly into our product development pipeline.
* Team leadership and development: Manage, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary engineering team, particularly guiding those working on HVAC-related projects. Inspire your team to innovate, solve complex problems, and achieve project goals with a focus on HVAC systems, product design, and electrical integration.
* Stakeholder engagement: Act as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders when it comes to HVAC integration within our products. Translate technical HVAC challenges into commercially viable solutions that align with overall business objectives.
* Hands-on technical leadership: Step into technical challenges when needed, offering guidance on HVAC-related mechanical, electrical, and project engineering issues. Your hands-on leadership will directly impact product design and system integration, ensuring efficiency and performance in all aspects of HVAC engineering.
* Adaptability to change: Ensure that the engineering team remains flexible in a dynamic environment, especially as the company scales and evolves. Your deep understanding of HVAC systems will enable you to adapt to shifting priorities and lead your team through complex engineering challenges.
What you will need:
* 10+ years’ experience in engineering, with a strong focus on HVAC systems and integration in mechanical, electrical, product, and innovation engineering disciplines.
* Proven experience in HVAC systems design and electrical integration is highly desirable. Experience with household domestic appliances or electrical whitegoods is a significant advantage.
* A solid understanding of HVAC system lifecycle management, from design and prototyping through to production and compliance, is essential.
* Previous management of the product lifecycle is fundamental, with a deep understanding of HVAC systems, heating solutions, and integration into innovative products.
* Experience working within manufacturing, electrical, or engineering environments is essential, with a specific focus on HVAC-related products.
