You will work on our long-term Health and Government contracts that we have been recently awarded. You will be responsible for the management of Final Accounts and also tender bids for small or mini tenders, from receipt of documents and paperwork through to final submission of both MTC Final Accounts and fixed tenders. Main Duties and Responsibilities As the Building Quantity Surveyor, you will be expected to promote best practice. The main duties and responsibilities include: Fixed Price Tenders Evaluate bid requirements from tender documentation, drawings and specifications Produce tender bids that are accurate, competitive and compliant Identify and effectively assess any risks within the tender bid Prepare estimate summary reports Negotiate the optimum prices from suppliers and subcontractors Work within given timescales Participate in handover of successful bids to the contracts team Measured Term Contracts (MTC) Completion of site surveys and provide full site measure of proposed / completed works Preparation of pre-measured budget costs and measurement for Final Account using Qudos & Barcellos software Survey and Preparation of Quotations using MTC rates Preparation and submission of Interim Valuations Preparation and submission of Final Account (measurement, certs, quotes, invoices, dayworks, photos etc) Support Contracts Manager in the development and delivery of a variety of contracts on time and within budget in order to maximise profit potential Liaising, negotiating and relationship building with clients and consultants Provide financial management of contracts preparing necessary interim claims to assist with cash flow management within the business Prepare and present monthly cost evaluation reports e.g., Cost Variance reports Monitor accounts submitted to client and action as appropriate to resolve issues Person Specification Behaviours Expected Self-starter Positive in all dealings with the directors, management team and staff Demonstrate sound technical awareness Organised and structured in planning their approach to their own personal work assignments and that of the other members of their team Detailed care and attention to every detail of a project Understanding our clients needs and building lasting relationships from this understanding Strong attention to detail for quality and H&S processes Innovative and forward-thinking approach to each project Courtesy and respect for each team member Criteria Essential Minimum 3 years experience in a Building QS Role Articulate with excellent communication skills Strong IT ability, experience working with Excel Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines Strong numeracy skills Good attention to detail Ability to manage your own workload UK Driving license The Company Offers Ongoing training and development opportunities Working alongside experts in their field Health cash plan including compensation for dentistry and optical well being Enhanced maternity and paternity leave Additional holiday increase with length of service Team building and activity days Monthly employee value-based recognition award monetary gift Health, wellbeing and social calendar of events Long service awards This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Irwin M&Es continual growth.
