An exciting opportunity has arisen due to promotion for a full-time Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse based in Barnet.
The successful post holder will provide assessment and advice relating to complex wound care management.
It is an exciting time to join our Barnet Tissue Viability Specialist Nursing Service as we continue to build upon existing models and introduce new ways of working.
Our transformation plan over the next 12 months will include further integration with primary care, planned and unplanned care models and a greater emphasis on population health.

Main duties of the job
We require a Tissue Viability Specialist Nurse with experience of working with adult patients managing complex wounds.
You must be keen to learn and to develop your assessment, treatment skills and knowledge.
You must be strong and motivated with the ability to teach and inspire colleagues through active demonstration of clinical practice.
Have triaging skills to ensure the best outcome for our patients.
You must be passionate about delivering high quality care, be well organised, competent, flexible, and confident, with excellent communication skills.
Being a team player who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team, is also essential to this role, as well operate autonomously.

Person Specification
Education/Qualification
* Educated to Masters Level in relevant clinical speciality or equivalent combination of post graduate diploma, courses, and experience
* Registered Nurse
* Extensive experience as a tissue viability nurse
* Post registration course in wound management or leg ulcer management
* Independent non-medical prescriber or willingness to undertake.
* Teaching qualification
* Mentorship in practice or equivalent
* Relevant course in wound care/pressure ulcer care/ leg ulcer management
Experience
* Working within a Primary Health Care setting
* Working in a role of Tissue Viability
* Research and Audit
* Partnership Working
* Knowledge of RCN / NICE Guidelines & Essence of Care
* Multi-agency working
* Implementing evidence-based practice
* Worked as a tissue viability link nurse/equivalent
