Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
A busy riding school and livery yard looking to take on 2 apprentices, either riding grooms or non-riding grooms. They are also looking for candidates who may be open to the idea of becoming an instructor to do some teaching and training.
They are an ABRS approved yard, and very busy, with a variety of opportunities for an apprentice to get involved in.
The employer has competition horses, and also compete, so need an apprentice who is enthusiastic, willing to learn and looking for a long term career in the equine sector.
On a daily basis, duties will include, but not be limited to;
* Turning in and out, changing rugs, picking out feet
* Feeding, filling haynets, filling water buckets
* Tacking up and untacking
* Mucking out

Other requirements
There is no accommodation available on site, so you must be able to make your own way to and from the yard each day. If you have your own horses, there is the possibility of having them on site on livery.
