Major Recruitment is looking to hire a Quality Inspector to join our client, a leading fabrication company based in Nottingham This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a passion for quality craftsmanship to contribute to a dynamic team environment. The role involves ensuring the quality and accuracy of flat laser-cut parts and fully fabricated items through first-off and final inspections. You will work closely with the Quality Supervisor, process jobs through the system, and assist with dispatch operations. Salary: £12-£16 per hour (depending on experience) Overtime: 1.5x pay after 40 hours Hours: Initial Shift: Mornings (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM) Future Shift Options: Either permanent afternoons (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM), nights, or rotating shifts (Mornings 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM / Afternoons 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM). Shift patterns can be negotiable for the right candidate. 5 x 8-hour shifts per week (40 hours total). Breaks: 10 minutes 30 minutes, both paid. Key Responsibilities Perform first-off and final inspections of flat laser-cut parts and fully fabricated items. Identify and address any quality issues, ensuring all parts meet required specifications. Read and interpret technical drawings to a sufficient standard to verify part accuracy and ensure compliance with design requirements. Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner. Use IT systems to process jobs and maintain accurate records. Wrap and prepare jobs for dispatch. Operate a forklift (if experienced) to handle materials and assist with dispatch operations. Work with the Quality Supervisor and engineering team to resolve issues related to incorrect or non-conforming parts. Liaise with production teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process. Skills and Experience Required: Essential: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Competent paperwork and IT skills for job processing and record-keeping. Good communication and teamwork skills. Desirable: Prior experience in a quality inspection role or within an engineering/manufacturing environment. Knowledge of laser-cutting or fabrication processes. Problem-solving skills to address and resolve production issues.
