We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Service Engineer to join our Estates Team where you will play a vital role in the management of planned maintenance and compliance of heating and chilled water Systems for the University. In this varied role, you will be responsible for the planned maintenance, compliance and operation of wet heating and cooling systems including the management of contracts and the delivery of works to the agreed timescale, quality and budget. You will maintain the University Asset registers for your areas of responsibility, verify certification and will be responsible for the continued operation of heating and chilled water systems including water treatment, strainers and pumps. You will liaise with University end users/clients, consultants, approving authorities and contractors and will lead discussions about work requirements. In addition, you will manage and lead reactive and long term maintenance projects and will be escalation lead for heating and chilled water issues on campus using the BMS system as a diagnostic tool. About you As the successful candidate, you will be an experienced Heating or Building Services Engineer with a broad knowledge of commercial systems and water treatment and with a strong trade background. You will be able to evidence your formal qualifications in Building Service Engineering and show a broad range of knowledge and experience in heating and cooling systems, reactive minor works, mechanical compliance and planned maintenance. You will be able to evidence knowledge of the construction process, project briefing, project procedures and have a demonstrable understanding of relevant legislation and its impact on the University sector including British Standards, Building Regulations and Health and Safety.
