We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Animal Facilities Manager to join our team at Sequani Limited in Ledbury, Herefordshire. As the Animal Facilities Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our animal facilities.
The primary functions of the Laboratory Animal Sciences (LAS) department are to implement and ensure adherence to the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, and to guarantee that all work is conducted in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
LAS comprises several distinct animal facilities, each with a specific focus based on species and/or study type. The LAS team is made up of staff across various grades and levels of experience. Unlike many other establishments in the industry, our team members receive extensive cross-training and are proficient in a wide range of techniques and procedures across all species housed within the facilities.

Role Overview:
The role is responsible for providing strategic direction and effective leadership to the designated Animal Facility, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives. A key focus of the position is to foster a culture where the highest standards of animal care, quality, compliance, and safety are consistently maintained and demonstrated across all operations.
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader with a proven track record in developing high-performing teams. You should be able to motivate, inspire, and drive innovation and continuous improvement across the facility. Strong expertise in capacity management within an animal facility, along with the ability to compile and manage budgets, is essential.
A background in highly regulated environments is crucial, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations and legislation, including (but not limited to) the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act. The ideal candidate will also hold Institute of Animal Technology (IAT) qualifications or other relevant educational credentials.
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience working with leadership teams to develop strategic growth and development plans.
* Active participation in external bodies related to Laboratory Animal Services.
