An opportunity has arisen for a talented Commercial Delivery Manager to join our Business Performance team based from one of our regional offices.
Your Role and What You'll Be Doing
As a Commercial Delivery Manager you will be responsible for partnering with the Managing Partners and senior leadership team of each market-facing business unit to develop and execute an integrated strategy for service lines, including expansion and refinement of the existing portfolio. The role ensures the alignment of strategic plans with operational execution plans ensuring alignment across supporting Group Services teams and implements effective business performance management systems. The role has three key focus areas, which include:
Strategic Planning
* Responsible for setting an integrated commercial, business development, resource strategy, and business plan, and financial forecast at Department level to drive sustainable, predictable, profitable growth
* Lead the delivery of the operational execution plans at Department level, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
* Work with Department head to assist in setting Department level resource plans, financial targets and budget development and monitoring
* Conduct relevant research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development, etc.).
* Support the Head of Business Performance and Managing Partner with Business Unit level strategic and operational plans and initiatives as required
Business Delivery
* Operate as an integral member of the Department leadership team, shaping the strategic agenda with Dept Head and setting direction with senior stakeholders to plan and deliver P&L and key performance outcomes
* Monitor and deep dive into performance of commercial and operational activities using key metrics and drive operational action plans to improve outcomes.
* Identify, control and positively influence key financial, operational and resource drivers to consistently deliver against our business plans and to support continued growth and profitability
* Identify, communicate and where necessary escalate risks to performance and delivery, working with the Leadership teams and stakeholders across the business to quickly establish remedial plans where necessary to achieve desired targets.
* Identify and understand thematic financial, resource and operational trends, risks and opportunities through regular performance analysis, working with stakeholders to influence and improve longer term delivery.
* Identify areas to reduce costs and improve our people and process efficiencies, where necessary reviewing working practises, devising and implementing alternatives to drive improvements to Gross Contribution and Gross Margin
* Develop and implement opportunities to improve profitable revenue growth and margin.
* Oversee pricing strategies and behaviours to ensure competitiveness and drive profitability.
Leadership
* Drive the development of and champion the use of tools and data led approaches, to drive financial and operational delivery and forecasting
* Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams (BD&M, CXO, HR, Finance, Data etc.).
* Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders.
* Stay informed about industry trends and market conditions to proactively address challenges and opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
* Deputise for the Head of Business Performance where required
About You
We're looking for an experienced Commercial Delivery Manager who has business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities. Our ideal candidate will have the following:
* Proven experience in a commercial leadership role, with a focus on strategy development and execution
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
* Experience in developing and implementing operational execution plans
* Knowledge of business performance management methodologies and systems
* Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interpret financial data and drive financial performance
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively
* Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
* Experience in collaborating with senior stakeholders and managing complex relationships
* Experience of operating in a fast paced and complex matrix model, managing relationships across a range of stakeholder groups
* Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, collaborate and influence at all levels
* Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach
* Resilience and the ability to thrive in a demanding and fast-paced environment
* Collaborative mindset, with a focus on fostering teamwork and collaboration across the business unit and wider Group.
