A British aerospace tech company that's pioneering electric aviation is hiring an Advanced Electrical Engineer – HV. The successful candidate will be responsible for design and development of the Aircraft HV distribution system, power distribution units, and design the electro-mechanical integration within the battery system.
The Advanced Electrical Engineer – HV will:
* Lead the CAD design of high-voltage (HV) architecture, components, and battery system integration, ensuring alignment with project specifications and safety standards.
* Oversee the electro-mechanical integration of the battery system, focusing on seamless coordination between electrical and mechanical components.
* Analyse functional, behavioural, and performance requirements to guide the design and development of HV systems and components.
* Conduct trade studies related to weight estimations, optimizing system performance while meeting design constraints.
* Design system electrical drawings, harnesses, interfaces, power distribution units, and electronics bays, ensuring precision and functionality.
* Prepare detailed documentation, including CAD/3D drawings from initial design concepts to final schematics, while supporting electrical system FMEA and fault tree analysis (FTA) to ensure system reliability and safety.
The Advanced Electrical Engineer – HV will have:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
* Strong background designing power distribution units.
* Experience with Electronics PCB mechanical integration.
* Demonstrable experience in Product engineering design and development.
* Experience with Harness development 2D and 3D in CATIA.
* Very strong Mechanical background in statics, vibration, material selection.
* Strong background in bus-bar design thermal sizing.
