What will you be doing?
The Waste Water Operations Manager will be responsible for the delivery of safety, quality, environmental compliance and financial aspects of all works. There will also be responsibility for the day to day running of wastewater operations (WWT, SPS and Network) with continual focus on improvements for customer focus, operational productivity and the environment.
Lead by example and support the team managers to show, promote and acknowledge positive behaviours and develop a proactive safety culture
Ensure that sufficient resources are in place to provide training for the teams on site to operate safely and efficiently including with L&D on team development using Smart Objectives
Communicate business priorities, performance and other matters of business to staff and contractors
Work collaboratively to ensure key requirements are communicated, understood and implemented, ensuring projects are correctly scoped, planned, funded and executed to deliver project and process KPIs
Support with the preparation and development of individuals within your teams through training plans and succession planning
Interact with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
Drive the recording and processes of accidents, incidents, significant close calls and audit/inspection non-conformities on Eco online (AVA)
Being a positive safety influence
Responsible for the delivery of contract compliance and project delivery within your remit
Maintain and improve operational excellence - best practice, safety standards and support consistency between contracts
Participate in an on call out of hours duty manager rota system
What are we looking for?
Current, or able to obtain minimum SC and DV security clearance
Excellent communicator
Detailed and thorough knowledge of wastewater standards.
Able to demonstrate safety leadership
Managerial experience, planning, organising and controlling work activities
Computer skills, ability to undertake several tasks at the same time and process troubleshooting skills.
