Job Description We are seeking a Trainee Customs Clearance Clerks for our Client based in the Dover area. Good analytical and excellent organisational skills are essential, and you should be able to work in a methodical manner. This role will suit candidates that have an interest within the transport and customs clearance industry. Duties include: Calculating Duty / VAT cost for each consignment Processing Import/Export declarations Dealing with general enquiries from importers / exporters concerning all areas, relating to Customs Procedures, Tariff Classifications, Duty Rates and any other documentation requirements Learning how to interpret and apply customs regulations, tariffs, and procedures. Checking documentation for accuracy and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations Keeping up to date with changes in regulations, laws and customs procedures Requirements: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. A willingness to learn and develop within the customs clearance sector. Previous experience in an administrative or logistics role is beneficial but not essential.
