Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity
This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract on a part-time basis.
Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, you will support the Chief Risk Office in managing the Executive Risk Committee and its sub-committees. Responsibilities include overseeing executive risk committee processes, ensuring compliance with governance standards, and preparing accurate reports and minutes.
You will provide technical expertise on the operation of committees, delegations, and escalation to senior forums. Additionally, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders and Board Members to enhance risk reporting, offering insights and analytics across the Group.

What will your day look like?
The role will report into the Chief Risk Officer, who will be your line manager and responsible for things like performance review meetings, 1-1s and development conversations.
1. Consolidate and manage Executive Risk Committee papers, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to governance policies and reporting requirements.
2. Lead logistics for the Executive Risk Committee, including preparing agendas, packs, and tracking paper reviews and sign-offs within deadlines.
3. Produce timely and accurate minutes and actions, collaborating with Company Secretariat to ensure proper escalation to Board-level forums, especially the Board Risk Committee.
4. Support the design and review of committee Terms of Reference, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
5. Draft and review papers for the Board, Board Risk Committee, Executive Committee, and sub-committees.
6. Consolidate Line 2 reporting for Group Risk Committees and assist with the annual review of risk management documents and frameworks.
7. Support internal and external reviews of the Risk Management Framework, maintaining records for CRO accountability and SMR requirements.
What do we expect from you?
1. You will be a skilled Risk professional with strong risk governance experience (principles systems and frameworks), ideally within a Bank or financial services business.
2. You have a good level of understanding of the work of executive and Board level risk committees including their mandates, delegations and escalation routes.
3. You will have high attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills including report writing.
4. You will have experience of working with senior stakeholders including Board members and ExCo level.
5. You will be comfortable and confident to challenge senior stakeholders, holding them to deadlines as required.
6. Build a close relationship with Aldermore's Company Secretariat and Risk Leadership team.
