What will you be doing?
Working within an agreed set of partner NHS accounts, the Community Non-Healing Wound Specialist will provide dedicated day to day clinical support, training, pathway adoption and clinical change support for community nursing teams and clinics, with a focus on non-healing wounds.
An important part of the position will be to implement agreed clinical pathways for PICO appropriate Non-Healing wounds within the community setting; specifically with District Nurse teams, Wound & Leg Ulcer Clinics.
This position is required to be confident and experienced with community nursing environment and familiar with current clinical decision behaviours, objectives and challenges.
The role requires the Community Wound Specialist to provide 'consultative' clinical expertise, insights and support our AWM Clinical and outcome strategy for PICO and Non-Healing Wounds.
What does success look like?
This role will clinically support 3 to 5 partner community sites for an extended period of time – approximately 3 to 12mths. It'll focus on improving clinical outcomes for Community Non-Healing wounds and releasing local resource capacity. It will support our Account Manager and Clinical Wound Specialists with clinical execution alongside District Nurse teams and community clinics. You will focus on PICO with Acticoat as part of a clinical solution pathway.
The role will implement agreed Non-Healing pathway and provide local education and training to impact clinical change, making a real difference to the lives of patients with complex non-healing wounds
Present clinical and resource capacity release outcomes to clinical and non-clinical partners – in collaboration with local commercial Smith+Nephew team.
Travel Requirements: > 75%. This role is centered around the M62 Corridor, mainly in Yorkshire and Lancashire
Your background
You'll be a Registered Nurse (band 5 or above) and have either advanced wound management qualifications or significant clinical wound experience. Coming from community nursing would be highly advantageous.
