Senior Cloud Ops Engineer Job Description: At Sage, our Cloud Operations DevOps team ensures that our products and services are always available, secure, and high-performing for customers worldwide. We're looking for a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer to play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, shaping DevOps practices, and supporting our 24/7 services. This is a hybrid role - three days per week in either our Newcastle or Winnersh offices. Key Responsibilities: As a Senior Cloud Ops Engineer, you'll: - Take ownership of the availability, security, and performance of our products. - Design and implement solutions that simplify customer experiences, mitigate risks, and align with our business goals. - Lead incident resolution and root cause analysis for high-pressure situations. - Drive best practices in CI/CD and product delivery pipelines. - Promote a DevOps/SRE culture across the organization. - Build and enhance secure, scalable cloud environments to meet operational needs. - Define key metrics and implement monitoring tools to improve service quality. - Partner with product teams to align designs and standards for a seamless customer experience. - Communicate with stakeholders about changes, incidents, and service improvements. - Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to deliver exceptional customer support. What We're Looking For: - Proven experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) environment. - Strong expertise with AWS (required); experience with Azure is a plus. - Advanced scripting skills: PowerShell (preferred), Bash, or Python. - Hands-on experience with monitoring solutions such as Datadog, NewRelic, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics. - Proficiency with service management tools like ServiceNow, Jira/Confluence, Zendesk, or Atlassian products. - Demonstrated success in automation and CI/CD pipeline implementation. - Strong analytical and decision-making skills during critical incidents. - A collaborative mindset to influence product teams and stakeholders effectively.
