This is a temporary, zero-hour contract role for an experienced Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker to join the staff bank at Ballington House, a 13-bedded mental health rehabilitation hospital in Leek, Staffordshire. Main duties of the job
As a Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will join the team at Ballington House to provide care and support for people with a range of mental health conditions. The service operates 24/7 with 12.5 hour standard shifts, and as a bank worker, you'll have the freedom to choose which shifts you want to work each week.
Job responsibilities
As an experienced Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker, you will provide care for people with a range of mental health conditions. After completing a paid two-week induction, you’ll have access to available shifts at Ballington House in Leek, plus the potential future option to work bank shifts regionally at other Elysium services across the region.
There is no minimum number of hours that you need to work, although it is recommended to work as often as you can to ensure your induction knowledge and familiarity with the service is retained.
Weekdays, nights, and weekend shifts are regularly available, which are easy to view and book through an app. Within a few taps you’ll have the nursing shifts at Ballington House secured that you want.

You will be working at Ballington House, a 13-bedded mental health rehabilitation hospital that provides services for women with complex mental health needs.
The environment at Ballington House offers a pathway from admission to discharge which incorporates three phases; the assessment phase (accepting help), the rehabilitation phase (believing, trying and learning), and the community phase-out (self-reliance).
You will work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team consisting of a consultant psychiatrist, clinical psychologist and assistants, an occupational therapist and assistants, nurses, and support workers.
