Excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts assistant to work for our friendly and highly successful engineering client to cover maternity leave, there is also a possibility of a permanent part time / job share role after a year.

The role of accounts assistant will involve:
* Financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting using Xero
* VAT Returns
* Sales ledger and purchase ledger- invoicing, statements, invoice coding, payments and direct debits
* Daily bank reconciliation, matching invoices and preparation of monthly payment runs
* Payroll - collation and inputting of hours for weekly payroll and HMRC Submissions
* Credit control - customer statements and chasing of overdue payments via phone and email
* Monthly sales revenue reporting to directors
* Ad hoc duties such as fines and penalties for vehicles, utilities renewals etc
The ideal candidate for the role of accounts assistant will have
1. Minimum of 3 years' experience of working as an accounts assistant / finance assistant / bookkeeper
2. Experience of VAT Returns / payroll and advantage
3. Ideally AAT Level 3 Qualified
