We are looking to recruit a dynamic, motivated and skilled Deputy Nurse Manager to join our forward-thinking team. We are looking for someone with the passion to drive forward high-quality care with a patient safety focus, and an enthusiasm to support service developments.
This pivotal role will deputise for and support the Nurse Manager to develop, deliver and maintain high quality palliative care. To facilitate and maintain an atmosphere that reflects the Hospice philosophy and palliative care approach. To support work across all Hospice clinical services, promoting a culture of learning and enquiry.
This post will be a key position in promoting high standards of care and professional development across the clinical workforce. The post will have a focus on education and supporting our vision to create educational programmes to both our workforce and our wider communities.
Main duties of the job
In this exciting role, you will embrace and model our vision, values, and behaviours to cultivate a compassionate clinical environment where patient-centered care is consistently safe, effective, and well-led. The role will require day to day line management responsibilities together with the drive to identify improvements, and identify areas of training and education both internally and externally.
You will provide supportive, innovative, and transformational approaches to services modelling our values, ensuring high quality care for our patients, families and their carers, and for our employees, volunteers and stakeholders.
The role will require a passion about achieving high quality care and work in a collaborative way internally as part of the leadership team, and externally with system partners.

Person Specification
Experience
* Twelve months palliative care experience, worked at a senior level
* Ward management skills and experience
* Experience in leading and participating in multi professional team working
* Research, audit and clinical governance awareness
* Experience of participating in audits and staff development
* Experience of teaching experience within the clinical setting
Knowledge
* Research/evidence-based practice.
* Understand the need to establish and maintain a safe practice environment.
* Awareness of National guidelines and legislation relating to health and social care provision.
* Knowledge of risk assessment.
* Evidence of post graduate study.
Qualifications / Training
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Post Graduate Certificate in End-of-Life Care or other relevant post registration qualification in Palliative care.
