We have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled, passionate individual to join our amazing team at Kilton View, our Redcar and Cleveland day services. You will support individuals with complex learning disabilities and physical health problems. The role will also require cross cover as needed in our sister day service in Middlesbrough and our wider short term care services across Teesside.
Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
Main duties of the job
The team provides specialist care and treatment for adults with learning disabilities, including hands-on care, assessment of physical health and social needs while overseeing registered nurses and healthcare assistants.
Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. Adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
About us
Our Respite, Day, and Residential services work consistently to provide care and treatment to adults with learning disabilities. Although there is a primary need for a clinical lead at Kilton View day service, the successful candidate will also spend time across other services including Unit 2, Aysgarth respite services, Day services at The Orchard, and Thornaby Road residential service as required.
Job responsibilities
The successful candidate will need to have a genuine desire to improve the physical health and well-being of adults with learning disabilities. They will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team enhancing the community service, working with service users who require specialist interventions due to the impact on physical health and quality of life, while adhering to the trust values and behaviours.
The successful candidate must be motivated, flexible, and able to communicate effectively. They will also be expected to take part in the nurse on-call rota.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council. RMNH/RNLD
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
* Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months
* Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months
Experience
* 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework
* Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
* Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate.
* Supervising or assessing students on practice placement
* Working in a multi-disciplinary team
* Quality improvement activities
* Experience of working with PMLD and/or behaviours that challenge.
Knowledge
* Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act)
* Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
* Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice
* Clinical Governance and its application in practice
* Research and development methodology
* Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment
* Working knowledge of clinical medicines management, including administration of injections
