We are looking for experienced, hard-working individuals who enjoy managing a team of staff and creating delicious desserts. We require individuals who can work in a fast-paced environment, handle the pressure of a busy kitchen, and maintain our exceptional high quality and standards in management.
You need to be reliable and able to work as part of a team and, when necessary, individually to create high quality desserts and provide excellent customer service. Flexibility is important as you may be required to cover shifts occasionally.
A dessert shop manager is responsible for many tasks, including:
1. Managing the store: Running the day-to-day operations of the shop, including opening and closing procedures.
2. Managing staff: Recruiting, hiring, training, and motivating staff, and managing their performance.
3. Maintaining stock: Ensuring there's enough stock, and rotating and changing stock as needed.
4. Ensuring compliance: Ensuring the shop complies with health and safety regulations.
5. Customer service: Resolving customer complaints and providing exceptional customer service.
6. Financial management: Preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances.
7. Inventory management: Tracking inventory levels and communicating with staff about who is placing orders.
8. Loss prevention: Managing loss prevention through security requirements and monitoring strategies.
9. Emergency planning: Creating an emergency and lock-down strategy, and facilitating the Emergency Action Plan in the event of an incident.
10. Managing cash: Ensuring all cash & stock is kept secure and that all necessary action is taken to ensure the handover of stock & cash is done in a secure manner.
11. Managing rota: Executing all aspects of rota planning ensuring the effective control of labour, that every team member is deployed to meet the needs of the company.
12. Following policies and procedures: Understanding the importance of Brownhills Desserts policies and procedures, Health and Safety checks, and taking all necessary remedial action.
13. Training staff: Training & coaching team members and supporting them in delivering their roles effectively.
14. Handling the administrative side of the business: Including sales targets, stock management, cost control, and profit and loss accounts.

You will need to have integrity, be an excellent communicator, and a can-do attitude is a must. You will be a natural leader supporting the store, developing staff, and ensuring the store is hitting our high standards. You will be sharing your skills by training and developing the team, resulting in an amazing guest experience each and every time.
We are looking for someone who has experience in a fast-paced environment, with previous supervisory or management experience, who is reliable and consistently achieves.
ESSENTIAL Experience:
1. Experience in managing a store or group of people.
2. Experience working in a fast-paced food environment/dessert shop, although other relevant experience may be sufficient.
3. Experience in a customer-facing role.
4. References will be required.
