DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a EU Operations Contingency Planner to play a vital role coordinating our daily warehouse and distribution requirements.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:
* Monitor transport requirements on a weekly basis to ensure that there is coverage of all required loads.
* Book trailers in advance for busy periods to reduce costs for our customer and secure trailers during busy times.
* Monitor required collections weekly to ensure trailers are secured for production and advise our Planning Team on potential planning issues that could risk production.
* Challenge carriers on excessive costs and work with stakeholders in various departments to report problems and ensure best practices are met.
* Forecast and create the number of trailers required for Road, Rail, and Sea freight.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
* Logistics & Supply Chain experience essential.
* Freight industry knowledge desired.
* Planning experience essential.
* Good IT knowledge with MS packages.
