What you will be doing: - Work with the designated manager(s) to: Understand and support the key operational and strategic issues for your areas. Coach and mentor designated managers in the delivery of best people practices and encourage a culture of line manager responsibility and accountability. Support organisational transformation and change programmes, including restructuring, redundancies, and variation of contracts of employment (including through flexible working requests). Identify, plan, and deliver key people-related activity, to include workforce planning, recruitment/resourcing, job design, performance management (including talent management and succession planning) employee development and change management. Attend designated team meetings, presenting/advising on HR issues as appropriate. Provide proactive support to designated managers on all casework, including absence monitoring and management, performance management, disciplinary and grievances issues, ensuring compliance with legislation and policy and procedural best practice and processes are followed. Support designated managers with effective and consistent performance management strategies and the application of the Performance Improvement and Support policy where appropriate. Take a proactive approach to providing support to designated managers in managing long-and short-term absence, participate in absence meetings and work with line managers, occupational health and external agencies (where relevant) to identify and implement support needs /reasonable adjustments to facilitate return to work or reduce absence levels. Contribute to the review, development, consultation and implementation of HR policies, procedures and processes to drive continuous improvement and employee engagement. Produce and present key HR management information reports/metrics to managers in designated area(s) to inform strategies/actions in associated HR activity. Undertake exit interviews for staff within designated areas and monitor turnover, compiling summary reports as requested. Deliver the HR element of induction to new staff within designated areas. Assist with the development and delivery of HR-related training programmes in designated areas and across the business as required. Identify and support the implementation of positive employee relations programmes, in consultation with managers that will lead to a more efficient and motivated workforce. Deal with enquiries sent to the HR enquiries in-box within designated areas in a timely manner, liaising with other HR colleagues to resolve queries as required. Act as a senior point of contact and subject matter expert on complex employment complex employment cases, working closely with the HR team. Undertake ad hoc projects as requested by the Head of People Strategy and Services and Strategic HR Business Partner. Work closely with other HR Business Partners and colleagues within the HR services team to build a one-HR strategy and approach, ensuring effective, seamless delivery of all HR services. Work flexibly and collaboratively with other colleagues in the HR team, proactively identifying areas for service improvement within the HR function. Provide cover for colleagues as required across all areas of the HR function as required.
