Animal Care Unit Supervisor – Animal Management £28,956 per annum benefits Hours; Full time (37hrs per week, all year round) Duration; Permanent Location; Rotherham About the Role As our Unit Supervisor for our Animal Care and Land Based provision at the College you will be the first person responsible for the welfare and health of our animal collection. The responsibility of the Unit Supervisor will be for the well-being of all animals and the overseeing of the land based technical support, supervising the team of technicians and learners on work experience. You will be responsible for providing full year-round care for all animals and ensuring appropriate cover arrangements prioritise animal welfare. As Unit Supervisor you will also be responsible for tours and demonstrations of our animals and land to designated groups, so excellent knowledge of our animal collection and facilities alongside good customer service skills is essential. You will… You will have experience of working within an animal establishment with a range of different species including small rodents and reptiles. You should have previous experience supervising/leading/supporting others and have experience of looking after a diverse range of animals to ensure our animals are cared for in the best possible manner. You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths and have a level 3 or above animal care qualification. You should have certification (or be willing to undertake) in Emergency First Aid and Health and Safety training. Department Info As Unit Supervisor you will report to the Curriculum Team Leader and Curriculum Manager. You will work closely with other staff within the Curriculum Area such as Lecturers and will supervise our team of Technicians on a day to day basis.
