Job Summary
About us:
Princess Alice Hospice is one of the top adult hospices in the UK, providing CQC rated outstanding, specialist palliative care and support to a community of more than a million people living in Surrey, south west London and Middlesex.
About the Hospice at Home team:
Our Hospice at Home service brings the skills and expertise of our highly trained and dedicated specialist team directly into our patient’s homes. This allows patients, their families, and carers access to the vital support they need at home, when time matters most.
About the role:
We are looking for a nurse practitioner, experienced in palliative care or a community setting, to join our Night Response team. This post will enable you to develop your skills in caring for patients towards the end of life and supporting them to be cared for in the place of their choice.
The postholder will work flexibly on the Night Response Rota, taking calls coming into the Hospice overnight, providing generic advice, signposting and redirecting calls to other services available as appropriate. Acting as a resource and mutual support for other members of the team, you will liaise with other staff on the In-Patient Unit to sustain and develop the relationship between The Princess Alice Hospice Services and the patients/families receiving palliative care support by the Hospice.
Experience in caring for patients who are terminally ill is essential. Applicants will need to have their own car and a full driving license.
About you:
As well as joining an organisation where you will be able to make a difference for our patients and their families, some of our employee benefits include:
* 27 days’ annual leave plus recognised public holidays - rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service and 33 days after 10 years’ service (pro rata for part time)
* Educational and professional development opportunities (we have an on-site Education Team)
* Monthly group reflections via Schwartz Rounds sessions
* Free on-site parking
* Tranquil Hospice grounds
* Clinical supervision (regular and we ensure it's protected time)
* Subsidised meals at our on-site restaurant
* Employee Assistance Programme
* Access to the Blue Light Card discount scheme
* Access to our Group Pension Scheme
* In-house laundry of uniforms, plus excellent changing facilities (with showers, fresh towels, and hairdryers)
* Wellbeing care - we provide a programme of activities, opportunities, and guidance to inspire and support our employees to live a healthy life, at home and at work.
Please note: Our vacancies are subject to eligibility to work in the UK. We are a small organisation with limited funds and therefore, we are not able to employ you if you are outside the UK as we are not able to obtain a work permit or visa sponsorship on your behalf.
