The school focuses on empowering children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to reach their full potential, and we are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.
Job Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs, both in the classroom and during individual activities. You will work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure each child receives the tailored support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, ensuring their participation in lessons and activities.
Assist in creating and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
Support students with their learning, communication, and social development.
Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Support students with daily routines and assist with personal care if required.
Encourage students' independence and self-esteem in a supportive manner.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
A passion for supporting children in their learning and development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
An understanding of different SEN needs, including autism, dyslexia, and speech and language difficulties.
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
