An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Stroke Services for a Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our team for a fixed term, to bolster the current delivery of occupational therapy to stroke survivors in North East Essex.
The Community Stroke service provides Early Supported Discharge as well as support for people who have a new therapeutic need some time after their stroke. This is in line with the Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) model providing a needs-based service.
The role will join our multidisciplinary team which consists of Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Physiotherapists, as well as an experienced team of Associate and Assistant practitioners.
It is essential that you are a car driver with access to a vehicle for work as you will be expected to travel across the North East Essex area.
The key objectives for this post are to provide high quality, safe, evidence based and goal-focused rehabilitation, supporting stroke survivors to become experts in their own care and remain in their own homes; and to provide holistic assessment specialist occupational therapy intervention.
Clear clinical reasoning; good assessment and intervention skills; and experience in neuro/stroke care are essential.You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical skills and be actively involved in service development.
