Location: Morson Road Depot, Enfield, EN3 4NQ
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £37,068 - £38,058 pa
Hours: 36 hours per week - Monday to Friday, various shift times available.
Overtime: Available, including Saturday mornings.
A new position has become available for a suitably qualified vehicle technician to assist in the repair and maintenance of council and customer vehicles at the council vehicle repair workshops.
Job Responsibilities:
* Undertake maintenance and repair activities on the council & customer fleet of light and heavy commercial vehicles and plant.
* Diagnose faults, carry out tests on vehicles, and effect permanent and complete repairs.
* Complete paperwork and procedures relating to Operator Licence requirements.
* Perform preventative maintenance work to minimise unnecessary customer costs.
* Any other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed by your Manager.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* NVQ Level 3 in Automotive Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
* Experience in the diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of vehicles.
* Organised and methodical approach to problem-solving with attention to detail.
* Full and current UK car driving licence; an HGV licence is an advantage.
* Friendly, confident, and professional manner with excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a larger team as well as on your own initiative.
* Full service, repair, and maintenance of all council vehicles and plant; diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical defects on all vehicles, replacing parts as necessary.
