Job Title: Aircraft Paint Sprayer

Hourly Pay Rate: £20 Ltd (outside IR35) per hour

Role Summary:
Aircraft Spray Painters are urgently required for a 6-month contract based out of my clients' hangars in the East Midlands, Exeter & Teesside areas. Successful candidates will be painting Commercial and Private aircraft. We are looking for candidates who are detail-oriented and take pride in their workmanship. Candidates ideally have three years of experience, and we expect your skills to continue improving as you gain more experience. Beginners will apply chemical paint stripping solutions and prepare the aircraft to be painted by cleaning, masking, and sanding, while those with more experience will apply the stripe, registration, and logo to the aircraft.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and spraying commercial/private aircraft
2. Spraying to an agreed specification and quality finish
3. Maintaining spray equipment and paint areas
4. Keeping a tidy paint shop and paint storage area
5. Storing paints in the correct conditions
6. Managing inventory of paints and equipment
7. Using tools and paint remover solutions to remove old paint from aircraft body and spare parts
8. Cleaning, sanding, and scratching aircraft surfaces to prepare them for painting
9. Applying epoxy, polish, resin, or other materials to metal aircraft surfaces before applying the final colour coat
10. Mixing paint pigments to create desired colours
11. Masking and outlining aircraft body to paint airline logo and livery, numerals, and brand name letters
12. Following safety regulations and wearing protective gear during spray painting operations
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Knowledge of the properties of various paints, finishes, and paint removers
2. Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
3. Strong hand-eye coordination and proficiency in using tools
4. Sufficient physical strength and dexterity to climb on aircraft and manipulate painting equipment
5. Knowledge of the use, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials
Preferred Qualifications:
1. 3+ years working with aircraft
2. Experience working at high heights
3. Excellent steadiness in your hands
4. Strong self-starter attitude
