Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join the palliative care administration team at Wythenshawe Hospital as an administrative assistant. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, a good team player, organised, flexible, and able to maintain attention to detail. They should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, be adaptable, and willing to take on various duties. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate flexibility, being committed to improving the patient experience.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in providing a full range of admin support to clinical teams including but not limited to:
* Utilise the Trust systems to accurately record patient details and activities (including but not limited to appointments, admissions, discharge, addition to waiting list), ensuring the timely recording of all patient activity in line with the Trust Patient Access Policy including data quality requirements.
* Provide a telephone service, answering and recording incoming calls, relaying queries, and messages as necessary, liaising with other departments and external organisations where appropriate.
* Greet visitors to the department.

Person specification
* GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy skills
* Evidence of working as part of a team as well as in isolation
* Knowledge of a range of general office procedures
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience working with people with disabilities
* ECDL/NVQ.
