They have approached Hays seeking an IT Engineer to work in their head office on the outskirts of Bury. This MSP has an excellent reputation in the North West due to the excellent service they provide to schools, with a very customer-focused approach. It is key they appoint the right individuals to ensure continuous provision for schools.
Your new role
As an IT Engineer/Service Desk Engineer, you will join an established team based at the head office, supporting schools across the North West. You will be responsible for providing 2nd line IT support. On a daily basis, you will liaise with end users who are on-site in schools and support a range of IT issues related to both hardware and software, as well as bespoke educational technologies. Issues will range from supporting network issues and internet outages to supporting firewall changes and more complex problems. You will provide sound advice to end users on how to solve issues and be proactive in preventing future problems.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you will have experience of providing IT support at least at 1st line, ideally with some 2nd line experience. Experience working in the education sector would also be beneficial. Excellent communication and rapport-building skills are essential to ensure you provide an excellent level of service to educational customers.
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a competitive salary of between £28,000 and £30,000 dependent on experience. You will join an established team with opportunities for further development and progression. You will work closely with the wider IT team who will support you in developing your skills and welcoming you into the team.
