Randstad are seeking a passionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join a brilliant staff team at a Special Educational Needs School in Wetherby. You will work collaboratively with a diverse pupil population to support their speech and language development.
Hours: This job is available on a full time or part time basis.
Location: Wetherby, West Yorkshire
Transportation: Car Driver essential due to location - Car share options could be available.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of pupils' speech, language, and swallowing skills.
2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on pupils' needs.
3. Provide direct therapy services using evidence-based practices, incorporating a variety of modalities.
4. Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
5. Advocate for clients' rights and access to appropriate services.
6. Maintain accurate client records and documentation.
7. Support and supervise swallowing and choking risks for complex needs pupils.
8. Participate in team meetings and supervision sessions.
9. Stay abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
10. Contribute to a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and experiences.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
2. Registered with HCPC.
3. Experience working with children and special educational needs.
4. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based assessment and intervention strategies.
5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
6. Commitment to ethical and client-centered practice.
7. Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
