About the Role
Leeds City College is seeking an experienced, innovative, and enthusiastic full-time English teacher to join our English team within the School of Social Sciences. The team delivers Entry Functional Skills & GCSE English to both 16-18 and adult learners enrolled in Study Programmes or full-time courses in Education & Early Years, Public Services, or Health Science and Social Care. Our campus is located at Quarry Hill, in the centre of Leeds opposite the bus station.
What You Will Do
1. Design and deliver innovative and engaging English sessions to learners of varying abilities aged 16-18 and adults.
2. Collaborate closely with the Programme Manager & Course Leader of English to meet qualification requirements.
3. Work with Study Support coaches to identify learners needing extra and small group support.
About You
1. Hold a Level 5 Teaching Qualification (e.g., Cert Ed, PGCE).
2. Have English and Maths at Level 2 or above, with a willingness to improve to Level 3 or above in one or both disciplines.
3. Experience delivering English GCSE and Functional Skills in an FE setting.
4. Experience setting targets for students and employing strategies to help them achieve their potential.
