Head of Sales & Marketing (Construction)
GBR Recruitment are exclusively recruiting for an experienced Head of Sales & Marketing to drive sales & marketing activity. This key Sales & Marketing role is more 70% Sales & 30% Marketing expertise (but exposure to leading both).
This is a hybrid role, working partly from the clients HQ in the Midlands & several days from home / field.
This key Sales & Marketing development role is commutable from several counties, including Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & parts of Northamptonshire.
Our well established & highly progressive client is seeking a strategic leader, with a real passion for driving both sales & marketing strategies, driving increased revenue, increased company exposure within a highly competitive industry sector, delivering effective sales & marketing strategies that successfully drive real sales leads, marketing campaigns (digital & traditional formats), improving the company’s client / potential clients data on the HubSpot CRM system.
You will be highly innovative, highly creative, with a real driven passion for both solutions / technical sales & effective marketing streams, combining the two to deliver tangible results.

The client is in the construction industry sector, delivering technical solutions into various end using companies / sectors including warehousing, factories (ambient & chilled), covered sport facilities, NHS buildings, education, events, plus many more clients with bespoke building needs.
This business installs various building type solutions, that are fit for any purpose.
This is a real 'hands on role’ involved in driving business opportunities, by being extremely proactive in driving sales & marketing activities, being client facing & leading from the front.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop & implement a comprehensive sales & marketing strategy, to drive revenue growth & overall market share, within a highly competitive industry.
* Manage & inspire the sales team, promoting a culture of excellence & continuous improvement.
* Complete many of the marketing tasks yourself (digital & traditional experience).
* Minimise the use of external marketing agencies, bringing marketing mostly in-house.
* Identify new markets / targets & current / future business opportunities, aligning the solutions with customer needs & market demands (technical consultative sales).
* Build & maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners & stakeholders.
* Ensure effective onsite surveys, scope of works to be carried out & correct margins.
* Successfully manage the sales & marketing budget, forecasts & overall performance metrics, ensuring full alignment with the set business goals / targets.
* Commercial lead with a strong understanding of the client’s contractual terms, identifying where contract amendments & renewals are required.
* Ensure the CRM is used to its full potential & that information is correct, to ensure accurate market intel & support effective sales activities using the data.
* Further develop the sales & marketing teams, to ensure the best possible results in both of these key operational areas. Ensuring the team is up to speed with the market.
Key Attributes:
* Proven experience in a senior sales & marketing role, ideally at Head of Sales & Marketing, Sales & Marketing Director, Sales & Marketing Manager or similar level.
* Experience within the construction industry, warehousing, racking systems, modular buildings, house building, portable cabins, mobile homes, facades or similar.
* Experience in influencing effective sales & marketing at all levels, plus highly comfortable with developing high level relationships e.g. board level industry, senior service personnel & governing bodies.
* Ideally from a technical solution selling profession.
* Track record of shaping and delivering client-focused technical solutions based on unique customer needs for strategic projects & deals (various values / spend levels).
* Demonstrable achievements within a challenging combined sales & marketing focused role.
* Significant experience negotiating commercial contract terms (rental & sales).
* Strong leadership & the ability to lead high performing teams.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to develop & execute technical solution sales & effective multi-channel marketing plans, to increase market exposure & market share.
* Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage & influence stakeholders at all levels as a key part of the company’s SMT.
Interviews to take place immediately, with a December or January start for the right person with the right sales & marketing skills / experience levels at a Head of, or similar level role.
