The MMCM IVVQ Team are responsible for the Integration, Verification, Validation and Qualification (IVVQ) of the MMCM Primary System including the trials and formal acceptance with the Customer. We are a team of multi-disciplined engineers undertaking a variety of tasks, from Design proving, Integration and Test through to Factory, Harbour and Sea Acceptance Tests/Trials leading to successful acceptance and delivery to the customer. You will be a member of the in-house MMCM primary System IVVQ team responsible for the conduct of a range of activities in the fields of Design Proving and Factory Acceptance. During these activities you will maintain a close working relationship with the MMCM Sub-system suppliers and will be involved in meetings and test events with the Customer and End User communities. This will include integration and test at the MMCM System Integration Facilities (SIF) in Plymouth,UK, with the occasional requirement to travel to the Thales site in Brest, France for and the end User trials sites in the UK. In the main you will be expected to work as part of a team working normal daytime office hours, but, during activities at the SIFs, you may be required to work shifts (e.g. 6am -2pm / 1pm-9pm) with very occasional night shift or weekend working as required in order to optimise utilisation of the SIFs and the equipment under test. This entails both lab based integration and test, and the conduct of live seat trials. You will be involved/responsible for: Installation and test of software and simulators on the lab based SRP at Turnchapel. Integration and test of the sea going assets in the shore based Operating Centre where you will be required to learn at least one of the operator positions in order to conduct live sea trials/missions. Generation and execution of test procedures and production of test reports Raising and investigating problem reports found during lab tests and sea trials Support Customer demonstrations, acceptance events and training Support the Turnchapel data manager in collating and processing the trials data Collation of qualification and acceptance evidence against the system requirements. Production of tech notes and analysis evidence documents. Skills Essential Experience of integration and test of system of systems Understanding, knowledge and experience of the IVVQ process (or equivalent test and acceptance cycle) Knowledge of requirements management - preferably through the DOORS Tool Ability to install and configure hardware and software operating systems Working knowledge of IP networks Working knowledge of Linux/unix A logical, methodical and thorough manner, having an eye for detail and a wiliness to investigate and document findings. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to team members, Design Authorities and varying levels of senior management Ability to work under pressure, either independently (where appropriate) or under supervision of the designated lead engineer. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for producing, modifying or reviewing technical documents, reports, plans and spread sheets. Experience in the generation of test documentation (specifically writing specification and test reports) Experience in conducting trials and customer acceptance Knowledge of System engineering lifecycle Desirable Working knowledge of SONAR and Mine Warfare/Countermeasures.
