The graphic design manager manages design projects from start to finish working closely with internal stakeholders. Creates visually engaging and effective campaign materials, including reports, bids, presentations, and digital content. They will utilise advanced skills in graphic design software to produce striking visuals that captivate the target audience and convey the intended message.
You’ll be responsible for:
* Leading the creative ideation process for Marcoms, work winning and/or project content and digital projects ensuring alignment with the organisation’s target audiences/markets and with consideration of project objectives and key performance indicators.
* Attending creative sessions with stakeholders to help interpret and refine creative briefs and requirements, following established design methodologies to provide design guidance and rationale where necessary.
* Presenting creative routes to colleagues and stakeholders, listening and acting on feedback to ensure the final approach meets guidelines and provides an optimal solution to the project aims and channel of delivery.
* Accurate estimation of time for all assigned work and for managing short and long term workloads, and reporting on progress to the team and relevant stakeholders, in line with our agile way of working.
* Delivering projects with user centred design thinking embedded.
* Maintaining proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
* Designing in-depth industry reports (digital & print), bids and/or technical reports that keep readers engaged, using digital content creation software.
* Managing design projects from start to finish working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the vision for each project is pushing the boundaries.
* Advocating and thought leads across customer experience, journey visual design, service design and content.
* Adhering to design standards in usability, user experience and accessibility, ensuring appropriate quality checks.
* Providing creative support to Marcoms and work winning campaigns, leading the design of emails, infographics, banners, adverts, reports, presentations and interactive content working closely with campaign and/or bid managers to meet the objectives and timings of the campaigns.
* Providing informal mentoring/training to junior members of the team.
* Seeking opportunities for continuous improvements/improving working processes.
* Developing effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Managing stakeholders.
* Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
* Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
* Proficiency in using Cero’s design platform.
* Excellent understanding of design principles and elements.
* Experience creating and overseeing print and digital designs in various formats.
* Proven track record in a marketing and bidding/business development/sales environment.
* Strong knowledge of UX/UI design principles.
* Project management and delegation skills.
* Demonstrable experience in the built environment sector.
* Willingness to continuously learn and stay up to date with industry trends, with the ability to incorporate new learnings into design projects.
* Understanding of the construction/consultancy industry, key terminology and topics.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with stakeholders and team members.
* Ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
* A proactive approach to professional development and staying current with industry trends.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback, provide guidance and mentorship to direct reports, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
* Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and mentoring a team of designers.
* Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and team members.
* Strong decision-making skills and the ability to balance competing priorities.

* APMP Foundation accreditation (if working within work winning) (or equivalent).
