The temporary part time posts will have a primary location at either Bangor Visitor Information Centre or The Moat, Donaghadee, but may also involve working at other centres in Newtownards, other parts of the Borough and occasionally elsewhere. Please note: There is currently a temporary, part-time post for 6 months (May October), based in Bangor. The working hours are Saturdays 9.45am 4.15pm (6 hours per week May, September and October) and 9.45am 5.15pm (7 hours per week June, July and August) There is also a temporary part time post for 5 months (May September), based in Donaghadee. The hours involve working two days every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday), from 10am 4pm (12 hours per fortnight). The post will have a primary location at either Bangor Visitor Information Centre, The Moat, Donaghadee, Cockle Row Cottages, Groomsport, Exploris, Portaferry but may also involve working at other centres in Bangor, Newtownards, other parts of the Borough. and occasionally elsewhere. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To deal with all enquiries from the public or outside bodies and to provide advice and information in connection with visitor services and events as appropriate. To maintain suitable statistics and records of enquiries as management information. To provide administrative support as required including updating Excel database and Word document reports. To assist in the delivery of Tourism publicity and promotional material to various outlets locally as required. To attend promotions, exhibitions and receptions as required. To be responsible for the opening and closing of the premises and if required, to act as key holder. To carry out light cleaning duties as and when required. For all roles excluding the Moat, candidates will be required to operate an EPOS till, credit card facilities and process ticket sales as required. To deal with stock deliveries, assist pricing and merchandising retail items. Balance cash handling and associated duties such as float checks. To undertake any other duties that reflect the status, purpose, and function of this post. NOTE: Availability to work weekends and Public Holidays is essential EMPLOYEE SPECIFICATION Qualifications Essential 5 GCSEs at grades A - C (or equivalent) including English and Maths Experience Essential One years experience in a customer service role dealing with the public Desirable One years experience in a customer service role dealing face to facewith the public in a Tourism related or front of house function KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES Essential Excellent customer focus skills High level of written and verbal communication skills Desirable Proficient in use of Outlook, Excel and Word OTHER REQUIREMENTS Essential Ability to work weekends and Public Holidays.
