My client is seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their team in York. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing and coordinating both directly employed site staff and external contractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinating and directing both on-site staff and contractors.
* Planning, scheduling, and managing all site activities, including labour coordination.
* Working closely with the Contracts/Project Manager to ensure projects align with programme timelines and effective cost control measures.
* Addressing issues promptly and implementing corrective actions as needed.
* Providing regular project updates and leading progress meetings, including subcontractor meetings.
* Ensuring adherence to the company's high-quality and safety standards, in collaboration with the Health, Safety, and Environmental Team.
Essential Requirements:
* Proven experience in site management, preferably in housing, commercial, and industrial projects.
* Ability to plan and oversee all construction operations, including the development of detailed construction programmes.
* Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes with a strong sense of commercial awareness.
* Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and team management skills, with the ability to maintain a professional and approachable demeanor when working with colleagues, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
* An academic qualification in a construction-related field (HNC, HND, or Degree) is desirable.
* Current qualifications and certifications such as SMSTS, First Aid, Black Managers CSCS card, asbestos awareness, working at height, and scaffold inspection are highly preferred.
* A valid driving licence is essential.
