The Department
The Global Risk team in Fidelity covers the management oversight of Fidelity’s risk profile including key risk frameworks, policies and procedures and oversight and challenge processes. The team partner with the businesses to ensure Fidelity manages its risk profile within defined risk appetite.
The team is comprised of risk specialists covering all facets of risk management including investment, financial, non-financial and strategic risk. Part of a broader General Counsel team, the Risk team collaborates closely with colleagues from Compliance, Legal, Tax and Corporate Sustainability.
About your Role
This role supports the oversight of fund market risk across all types of investment strategies, geographies, and global fund ranges.
As part of your role, you will be expected to monitor risk analytics utilising a range of in-house and vendor applications and leverage those analytics to quantify risk concentrations and provide effective challenge to the business. You will be given a platform to grow your technical skills and gain experience across investment strategies. You will be actively involved in enhancing the market risk framework, running topical analysis for senior management, taking appropriate action on risk concentrations and compiling risk reports for Boards and Risk Committees.
Through your participation in risk forums, you will be expected to identify synergies and propose ways to optimise existing processes across the team. You will need to be able to work effectively as part of a matrix organization and develop an effective network with colleagues across the Global Risk team to support broader goals and objectives as required. You will also work with colleagues in Investment team, Trading and Portfolio Construction.
About you
You will
1. Have experience of risk within Asset Management or Investment Banking
2. Have a degree with a specialisation in Finance, Mathematics or Economics. Professional qualifications, such as CFA or FRM, are an advantage
3. Have a rounded understanding of investment funds and instruments traded within them
4. Be efficient and comfortable with large data sets. Experience with tools to handle data and create visualisations such as PowerBi, Python and Microsoft products (eg Excel) is an advantage
5. Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
6. Have great written and communication skills
7. Have excellent attention to detail
