If the answer is yes, then we may have the job for you We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Import Control Assistant to join our Port Health Service based at the Port of Felixstowe. Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority is at the frontline of food safety, animal and public health control. To become part of our team you will be committed, keen to learn and prepared to assist our dedicated team of staff in the undertaking of our statutory functions. You will also have excellent attention to detail and be able to accurately record information for other statutory bodies. Your role will involve providing a full range of general office support services to the wider Port Health Team. This will include supporting all aspects of enforcement of legal requirements in relation to animal and public health legislation in the port. After completion of initial training, you will participate in a 7-day rotational shift pattern. This covers the hours of 06:30-22:00 Monday to Friday with weekend working rota’d in. Upon starting the shift pattern, you will attract 14% shift allowance on top of the base salary. The shift pattern will be kept under regular review to ensure it meets operational needs, which may lead to a 24/7 service. In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development.
