WHAT TO EXPECT
As an Upper Body Key Life Test Lead Engineer, you will play the lead role in supporting the customer in their test requirements over two sites.
You will be expected to support the CST Upper Body manager in scheduling, setting up, executing and reporting of all test cases going through our Environmental and Ambient KLT test facility. These facilities support a number of customer groups such as Body Closures & Structures, Exterior / Interior Trim and Component Durability tests.
In addition to this you will be looking into facility & Resource improvements and maintenance activity of these facilities to ensure they remain fully operational and able to support the new technologies as they are rolled out.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Complete physical rig testing in accordance with JLR testing standards and procedures, to ensure successful delivery of test programme activity to time, cost and quality.
2. Preparation of test rig and test samples, execution of tests processes, collection & analysis of test data, post-test de-preparation and reporting out of test results.
3. Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders during CST test activity i.e. customers, subject matter experts, test engineers & technicians, rig design & manufacture engineers etc.
4. Design & Manufacture of test control systems allowing active body components / systems to operate and continual improvement of test methods to enhance the CST service offering.
5. Ensure test facilities are maintained to high standards through application of appropriate quality tools including TPM and 5S.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
1. Vehicle / BIW / Component testing experience and closed loop control knowledge.
2. Instrumentation and Data Acquisition knowledge.
3. JIRA knowledge.
4. Able to pass a climatic medical.
5. Ability to apply basic project planning to support facility scheduling.
