This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Agent/Assistant Project Manager to join a highly regarded contractor specialising in the Water sector. Our client has recently secured Tier 1 status on the South West Water Framework for AMP8, ensuring job stability and career progression through at least 2030.\n\nAs an Assistant Project Manager you will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and your role will be to work with a Project Manager on a single or portfolio of projects providing support to the PM’s general duties and taking the lead on project governance, supply chain relationships, takeover and client facing outputs.\n\nSupporting the development and continuous improvement of the project team and supply chain, striving to deliver enhanced health, safety, quality & environmental outcomes, customer satisfaction and commercial success. The Assistant PM acts as the Project Manager’s Deputy and supports the PM in liaison with the Client.\n\nAs an Assistant Project Manager you will:\n\n * Oversee the day-to-day site activities, ensuring safe and efficient project execution.\n\n * Support and drive continuous improvement within the project delivery team.\n\n * Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.\n\n * Work closely with the client, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain strong relationships.\n\n * Monitor project progress, managing budgets and schedules effectively.\n\n * Identify and mitigate risks to avoid project delays and cost overruns.\n\n * Lead site teams and foster a positive, safety-focused working environment.\n\nOur client requires an Assistant Project Manager with:\n\n * Proven experience in the water, utilities, or civil engineering sectors.\n\n * Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (SMSTS & CSCS required).\n\n * Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure projects (Water sector preferred).\n\n * Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\n * Full UK driving licence.\n\nSalary/Benefits:\n\n * £55,000 - £60,000 per annum\n\n * Company car or car allowance\n\n * 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays\n\n * Option to purchase an additional 5 days leave\n\n * Employer contribution pension scheme\n\n * Private medical insurance\n\n * Life assurance\n\n * Health insurance\n\n * Plus additional company benefits\n\nIf you would like more information, or to apply for this vacancy, please contact Hayley Fisher on (phone number removed).
