Position
Description And Main Purpose Of Role
The Assistant Accountant is responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports and analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls. This is a dynamic role in a rapidly growing business which will support all the Western Hemisphere Region as well as the Senior Accountant as and when required.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Ensure the credit cards are reconciled in Sage on a monthly basis.
* Ensure the Sage cash book is reconciled daily with payments and receipts.
* Monitoring accounts mailbox, filing of invoices in Outlook, DropBox & accounting system.
* Accurate processing of Accounts Receivable invoices in the accounting system and submission to customers in a timely manner.
* Accurate processing of Accounts Payable invoices in the accounting system.
* Ensure intercompany accounts are reconciled.
* Review and analysis of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring timely correction of discrepancies.
* Performing general accounting functions, including analysing financial information and posting month end journal entries.
* Preparation/review of monthly payrolls.
* Preparation/review of intercompany invoices.
* Project accounting – ensure revenue and costs are accrued in line with project trackers and investigating any discrepancies.
* Providing support to other Regions.
* Ensure financial reporting deadlines are met.
* Assist during audit of financial statements.
* Ensure all tax obligations are adhered to.
Requirements
Skills Requirements
* Possess and apply broad knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
* Ability to communicate technical financial issues to non-finance personnel.
* Excellent IT skills including sound working knowledge of MS Office; particularly Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail with high level analytical skills.
* Workload management, organizing and prioritising tasks.
Experience, Competency And Qualifications
* Fully/part qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
* Previous experience of working in a multi-currency, multi-company environment.
* Previous experience working within Oil & Gas/Renewables.
* Previous experience working with project accounting is essential.
* BPC System experience – SAGE 200/Power Bi.
