Salary: Up to £81,802 + Comprehensive Package including:
* Grade 6 Car Allowance (£6,850)
* Travel Expenses
* London Weighting Allowance (£2,500)

We are seeking a Package Manager (MEP) to oversee the mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) works across 12 assets within the London Tunnels. This role involves leading a team of Delivery Managers and working closely with Asset Leads to ensure the smooth execution of the project. The Package Manager will report to the MEP Lead and play a critical role in the management of supply chain packages, ensuring technical requirements and best practices are consistently applied across all assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Subcontract Supply Chain Management:
* Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from design through to construction, commissioning, and handover.
* Ensure subcontractors meet all contractual, financial, and technical requirements.
* Proactively manage budgets and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
* Develop, review, and integrate subcontract programmes into the wider project schedule.
* Maintain accurate project records and ensure compliance with contract documentation.
* Identify, assess, and manage risks through the development of risk registers for subcontract packages.
Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities:
* Take a leading role in ensuring workforce safety and environmental impact reduction.
* Ensure all supply chain partners adhere to statutory and project-specific safety standards.
* Work closely with subcontract managers and site teams to drive continuous improvements in safety.
* Conduct constructability reviews to identify and mitigate risks before construction begins.
* Manage design risks from the initial planning stage through to execution.
Quality Management:
* Ensure a high-quality product is delivered to end users by managing quality risks effectively.
* Oversee Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and coordinate inspections with senior quality teams.
* Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to develop effective technical solutions.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring lessons learned are shared across work packages and assets.
Programme & Delivery Management:
* Understand the overall contract programme and manage the integration of MEP packages.
* Work closely with Delivery Managers and Asset Leads to resolve delays and challenges.
* Provide regular progress updates and ensure clear communication of project timelines.
* Align subcontractor deliverables with the main contract programme.
Stakeholder & Client Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with client representatives and key stakeholders.
* Work proactively to understand client requirements and exceed expectations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential:
* Proven experience in a similar senior role, overseeing MEP systems from design to handover.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related subject).
* Strong knowledge of construction techniques, sequencing, and best practices.
* Experience managing contracts under NEC construction contracts framework.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to progress works and resolve challenges.
* Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Document Control Systems, and AutoCAD.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
* Relevant CSCS Card.
* SMSTS/SSSTS certification.
