Mossgate Day Nursery is a modern, purpose built nursery situated in Heysham - a residential area of Morecambe. The nursery prides itself in the support it offers staff with ample additional training opportunities, a staff welfare scheme and a competitive salary.
We are looking for a suitably qualified early years practitioner to join our team.
The nursery operates on a term time basis, open for 38 weeks a year - Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 18:00. We are looking to fill the following hours:
* Monday 08:30 - 15:30
* Tuesday 12:30 - 15:30
* Wednesday 12:30 - 15:30
* Friday 08:30 - 18:00
The starting salary is £12.36 for a level 2 qualification and £12.51 for a level 3 qualification, with automatic rises after 1, 3 and 5 years and salary reviews every April.
Holiday pay is added at 12.07%, effectively making the hourly rate £14.05 for level 2 and £14.22 for level 3.
We offer a NEST pension with a 3% employer contribution.
An attendance incentive of £50 a month is also paid to staff who attend on time and take no unscheduled time off.
Some of the responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring a safe environment for children and adults in the group, which includes:
o Working as a team member in the daily routine.
o Ensuring equipment is well maintained and safe to use.
o Ensuring good hygiene standards are maintained.
o Ensuring safety procedures for fire drill, arrival/departure and during the session itself are enforced and regularly reviewed.
* Ensuring the provision of high quality care and education for the children, which includes:
o Planning a curriculum that offers a wide variety of toys and equipment to stimulate and support children’s learning through play in the foundation stage of the curriculum.
o Acting as a key worker to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring each child’s needs are recognized and met.
o Ensuring that all activities reflect positively the linguistic, religious and cultural diversity of the community.
o Attendance on relevant courses and at meetings as required.
o Ensuring the absolute confidentiality of any information regarding the children, their families or other staff, which is obtained in connection with this employment.
All applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent.
Pay: £12.36-£12.51 per hour.
Expected hours: 21.5 per week.
