A great new opportunity with a global business : my client are currently looking to recruit a Materials Planner. Within this position, you will be responsible for all aspects of inventory control, supply planning, and demand forecasting. The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Materials Planner position and have vast knowledge of supply chain management and lean manufacturing principles.
Role and Responsibilities:
* Monitoring inventory levels of materials and finished goods to ensure stock levels are updated, using ERP systems to do so.
* Completing regular material inventories to aid demand forecasting.
* Liaison with suppliers to retain long:lasting relationships to meet the demands of materials procurement.
* Drive continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles and decrease costs where possible.
* Manage supply chain risks and devise contingency plans to mitigate material and supply chain:related risks.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience within a Material Planner position.
* Knowledge of ERP and MRP systems.
* A strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
* Understanding of lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma, Kaizen, JIT).
