Job Title: Mobile Electrician
Location: Stoke Schools Contract
Contract Type: 6-Month Fixed Term Contract
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
EQUANS is currently recruiting for a Mobile Electrician to join our in-house engineering team for a 6-month fixed term contract based at the Stoke Schools contract. This is a full-time role offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
What will you be doing?
As a Mobile Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive electrical works within an educational environment. Your role will involve a variety of tasks including fault-finding and repairs, regular maintenance, and lifecycle defect reporting on electrical assets.
Key responsibilities include:
* Fault finding and repair of gas-fired boiler plant and heating systems
* Regular planned maintenance on electrical assets
* Providing lifecycle and defect reports on electrical elements
* Updating the helpdesk on work order progress
* Supporting other engineering disciplines and communicating effectively with site staff
* Managing and maintaining Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules
* Taking ownership of health and safety (H&S) on site
* Participating in emergency call-outs and being part of the standby rota
* Ensuring that all issues are reported to the Team Leader and maintaining clear records

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a skilled and proactive individual with:
* A recognised Electrical Qualification to City & Guilds/NVQ level
* IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
* C&G 2391 (desirable)
* Strong awareness of Health & Safety regulations and risk assessments
* Previous experience in facilities management (FM) within a PFI environment (advantageous)
* IPAF (MEWP) qualification (desirable but not essential)
* Full, clean driving licence
* Previous practical experience in the electrical trade (minimum 4 years)
* Ability to work from technical plans, diagrams, and method statements
This role requires a DBS enhanced check, so the ability to pass this is essential.
