Are you someone who has good understanding of credit ratings across several types of assets and experience working in Corporate credit within an asset manager, rating agency or financial institution?
Aviva is building out its internal credit rating team within the IWR Finance Function. This role will work closely with a range of colleagues from the Annuity Asset Origination, Chief Investment Officer and Aviva Investor teams depending on the particular asset class. The internal credit rating team reports into the IWR Actuarial Reserving Lead who supports the UK IWR Chief Actuary, who has regulatory responsibility for the appropriateness of the internal credit ratings used.
A bit about the job:
Assessment and development of new and existing internal credit methodologies, to ensure they remain compliant with the UK IWR Credit Rating Policy and all relevant regulatory requirements. You will achieve this by undertaking regular reviews of existing methodologies, including appropriate assurance testing, to evidence ongoing compliance, presenting output of reviews to expert judgement panels and key forums/committees who are formed to support the discharge of the Chief Actuary’s responsibilities regarding approval of internal credit ratings. You will also undertake annual review of Aviva’s internal and external asset managers, undertake deep dive reviews as proposed by the IWR Actuarial Reserving Lead to provide assurance that operational controls and governance arrangements are working effectively, recommending actions to address and/or mitigate gaps.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Good understanding of credit ratings across several types of assets
* Relevant undergraduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, or related discipline
* Solid understanding of credit analysis fundamentals
* Strong knowledge of credit rating methodologies
* Experience working in Corporate credit within an asset manager, rating agency or financial institution
