We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join our team on a fixed term basis, who is passionate about engaging learners, and supporting them to achieve their best. The role will involve providing 1:1 support as part of our "team around" approach for EHCP pupils, as well as offering general small group support within the classroom.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is:
1. extremely motivated, enthusiastic and creative in their approach to supporting learners in the classroom;
2. committed to, and enthusiastic about, working in partnership with other colleagues to deliver the highest quality support and ensure the best possible outcomes for every child;
3. have high expectations of themselves and the children they work with;
4. able to work effectively within our hard-working, talented and friendly school;
5. able to be flexible in their approaches to meeting the needs of different learners;
6. reflective and committed to developing their own practice;
7. have the sense of humour and sense of fun that are essential in working successfully in a busy, ever-changing environment.
8. EYFS or KS1 experience would be beneficial.
9. Experience working with children in a supporting role would be beneficial.
Criteria for the post:
10. A proven record of recent experience working with primary pupils within a school setting (preferred)
11. English and Mathematics GCSE (minimum C Grade) or GCE O Level or equivalent (essential).
12. Further relevant qualifications such as NVQ (preferred but not essential).

Alongside the classroom role and included in the hours for the contract, an important element of the role will be as part of our lunchtime team.
Shiphay Learning Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A DBS disclosure is required for this post along with the other necessary checks.
The commencing salary for this post will be £16,756 which is Grade C, Scale point 3 and based on 30 hours per week for 39 weeks per year. (Full Time Equivalent £24,027).
