If you are a registered Occupational Therapist who is driven, passionate about working with people to help them live their best lives, and wants to work for a caring organisation, then this is the role for you!
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered Occupational Therapist to lead our OT team in the recently established Community Rehabilitation Enhanced Support Team (CREST). The service employs an innovative model to provide rehabilitative care to people with complex and severe mental health issues, aligning with our programme of Community Mental Health Transformation.
The role offers an opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives, including supporting them to engage with activities of daily living, integrate within their local communities, and lead meaningful and more independent lives. The position provides team working, autonomy, variety, and significant development opportunities in both leadership and clinical skills.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder will be a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist in our Community Rehabilitation Enhanced Support Team (CREST). Initially, this will involve input into the development of the service, including feeding into processes and procedures, and supporting the recruitment of staff. OT specific developments will include ensuring the implementation of evidence-based Occupational Therapy assessment tools and interventions.
On a day-to-day basis, the Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist will support patients through a needs-led, patient-centred approach to care. Each patient will have a bespoke care plan agreed at MDT, which the Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist will help implement. Close collaboration with the patient's care coordinator is essential.
The role will include supporting patients in developing their skills and relationships to enable them to live healthy, fulfilling lives. Activities may include home visits, social visits, or helping patients engage in community activities, including sports and social events.
The Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist will provide supervision and line management to junior team members and may occasionally deputise for the Service Lead.
